Dear students
By: Haziq

My dear students...

As much as it pains me;
To utter these words of discouragement,
To ban you from the very modern apparatus that has helped you;
In ways you couldn't have imagined,
The very apparatus that puts the world at the tip of your fingers.

My dear students...

Know that every stroke of the keyboard is just a ruse;
You can say that you can learn many things from it,
You can say that the games that you've played on it are your very lifeline;
Without it the world will plunge into darkness,
You can say that it simplify your work,
People say we are more "connected",
Are we?
It certainly feel more distant.

My dear students...

What happened?
You are not listening!
"Excuse me, are you chatting with your friends while I am teaching?!"
Grumbled, Embarrassed, Pique;
Such resentment;
A heavy price, for a simple reminder.

My dear students...

We stand here, in front of you,
Never to pick on you, But to always encourage you,
We stand here, in front of you,
Never to shout at you, But to always remind you with love and care,
We stand here, in front of you,
Never to strike fear, But to always help you to be brave,
We stand here, in front of you,
Never to belittle you, But to always inspire you.

My dear students...

Start learning,
Start listening,
Take a pen, jot down notes,
Read a book,
Talk to people,
Help those in need,
Be steadfast and have patience,
And most importantly be mindful of Allah;
The One and Only to be worshipped.

My dear students...

Modern apparatus will never benefit you;
Not until, you observe your intentions,
Not until, you take into account all your actions,
Not until, you learn to be just,
And Not until, you learn to value time.
